Photo for my Preliminary Magazine Cover

Model:

Callum Pyatt
Camera height/angle/distance:

it was a long shot that was cropped into a medium shot. This makes the image more personall to Callum.
Location:

Outside school grounds, showing
Lighting:

Natural lighting of the sun.
Mise-en-scene (including props, costume) :

School uniform, backpack.
Attempted connotation:

A culture of a well-dressed school taking his academic life seriously.
Planned denotation:

Callum looking smart walking towards the camera.
Contingency (in case of model absence/weather):

Use another model in school corridor.
Alternate angle:

Low angle aiming up empowering the model. Showing Callum is powerful and is rising above his target grades or showing that the pupil is seen as priority in the school.
Thinking points:  Use of artificial light in prospect. Have other students in the background of the shot to show the social atmosphere within the school. Could have netballers or footballers in the back to show extracurricular activities and something other than classroom lessons.

Comments:  Chosen models are representative of the typical student that the school aims to produce; this is in the hope of attracting parents to the magazine and to project the image of success for the school. Uniform must be immaculate with the tie neatly done to show someone taking pride in the school of which they attend.
