Production of Magazine- Draft of Double Page Spread and Feedback from Peers
My target audience were fond of my photo and agreed that the black and white image was effective for my theme and housestyle. They said that the mise-en-scene and costume that Georgina is wearing is effective as it is relevant to the Northern-Soul genre. However they did say that my image had a lot of white space and specifically a lot in the top left corner, this is ineffective because using the visual hierarchal structure, we know that this is the first place readers will look. I think if I use photo shop to actually zoom in the image so that it appears a more close up, it will eliminate the empty space, making it look more professional.

Production of Magazine- Front Cover Draft and Feedback From Peers
When talking to my peers about my front cover, they all told
me that they loved the contrasting colours on the black and white image. Some
also said that they recognised the conventions of using a black and white image
and that it made my product look professional. I also added a shadow on my
masthead which outlined the text, it was already a fairly bold font but I want
it to be seen from far away. Kayleigh complimented my magazine and said that
the image is personal as it is a close medium shot and Georgina is looking into
the camera.

Planning (for Main Task - Music Magazine) Language and Register
In existing magazines, it is evident that they adopt a more informal approach to the language they use, in contrast to media texts including newspapers and broadsheets. Similarly, the language in headlines is used to catch the reader’s attention otherwise they would appear boring, and institutions would find it difficult to sell their products. For my magazine, I will use a fairly colloquial language which will appeal to be chatty and informal. This will appeal to my younger target audience as they are young and would arguably prefer to read less formal and long-winded language.
