Planning (for Main Task - Music Magazine) Language and Register
In existing magazines, it is evident that they adopt a more informal approach to the language they use, in contrast to media texts including newspapers and broadsheets. Similarly, the language in headlines is used to catch the reader’s attention otherwise they would appear boring, and institutions would find it difficult to sell their products. For my magazine, I will use a fairly colloquial language which will appeal to be chatty and informal. This will appeal to my younger target audience as they are young and would arguably prefer to read less formal and long-winded language.
