Production of Magazine- Draft of Double Page Spread and Feedback from Peers

When I asked my target audience about my double page spread they particularly liked the font as it was bold and very eye-catching with the blue shadow effect. On the second draft however they did say that my masthead was too big and overpowered the page, additionally I latter thought that the use of an oversized font would look dysfunctional on a double page, this is because the crease of the page will distort the letters.
My target audience were fond of my photo and agreed that the black and white image was effective for my theme and
housestyle. They said that the mise-en-scene and costume that Georgina is wearing is effective as it is relevant to the Northern-Soul genre. However they did say that my image had a lot of white space and specifically a lot in the top left corner, this is ineffective because using the visual hierarchal structure, we know that this is the first place readers will look. I think if I use photo shop to actually zoom in the image so that it appears a more close up, it will eliminate the empty space, making it look more professional.
